Being Recognized
Running a non-profit is not as glamorous as it sounds. It’s hard to find volunteers, hard to get your name out there, hard to raise funds, but it is super easy to find those in need. This year has been a whirlwind of activity for The Wendi Atwood Rogers Foundation as we were able to get enough interest to get volunteers for our community service projects, get our name out there, and raise much needed funds. The work is so important, so glamour is usually the last thing you are thinking about.
This year has been different. All of the attention we received has made this job a bit glamorous. We have to thank the Dallas and Texas paralegal communities for a great year! The Dallas Area Paralegal Association chose us as their “Focus Charity” for 2024, and has honored us by educating all of their members about our Foundation all year. By doing so, we have raised awareness of our work, raised awareness of the partners we work with, the kids and young adults we support with mentorship, supplies and grants. We couldn’t ask for more.
As this focus is coming to an end, we were honored to be named as the charity for the Texas Paralegal Division’s Annual Meeting (a state wide organization that is part of the Texas State Bar) held in October. This is an amazing event that takes place during their annual Texas Advanced Paralegal Seminar “TAPS”, which brings together paralegals from all over the great state of Texas into one room. Instead of spending money on speaker gifts and honorariums, the Paralegal Division honors their chosen charity with a monetary gift for those budgeted items. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be included and receive such a kind gift!
Thank you all for your kind support and making this year a bit glamorous. All of Wendi’s hard work and mentorship is paying off and being paid forward!
